My first time doing Freelance Web Development work. The client was very satisfied and I look forward to doing more work with them in the future. Being able to apply my knowledge of REST APIs, web development, and hosting with AWS to a real project was very exciting.

Designing the Website

The 357 Company came looking to add new and better blog functionality to their "In the News" page. However, the project turned into a complete redesign of their website. Having already had the experience of doing something similar with my own personal website this project was a great opportunity to show off my skills.

The Blog

The new "In the News" page was built from scratch. Using a custom schema for how data is stored within the MongoDB backend database, the blog page was built for the 357 company to easily make blog posts, edit blog posts, and delete blog posts. The "In The News" page was also customized to show the newest created article to show as a featured article on the page.

Hosting with AWS

Previously the 357 Company had their domain configured to show their Wordpress site. After a bit of tinkering with adjusting Nameservers and putting their website up on to a EC2 instance with Amazon Web Services the site was up and running. After linking the EC2 instance running their site to AWS CloudFront Distribution the brand new website was up and running! You can check out their website here or click below.
